John Lee Hammock

It is with tremendously heavy hearts that we the management and staff of Community Mortuary, LLC. - Tifton takes this time to announce the Earthly transition of Mr. John Lee Hammock, 69 of Tifton, Ga on September 03, 2023 at Regency Hospital in Macon, Ga. Mr. Johnny L. Hammock was born in Ashburn, Georgia on May 12, 1954, to William and Bertha Hammock. He was educated in the Turner County School System. Mr. Hammock loved and enjoyed spending time with his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching baseball and football. He retired from Southern Turf Nursery. In addition to being preceded in death by his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, William Hammock, Jr. and Bobby Hammock.

He leaves to cherish his memories his, wife, Norma Jean Hammock of Tifton, Georgia; children, Shawn Hammock of Tifton, GA and Valorie (Marcus) Washington of Albany, GA;  grandchildren, DaVonta Brown, Johnta Smith, and Keoni Hammock all of Tifton, GA, and Nacosha Hammock of Columbia, SC; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Goldie (Charlie) Wilcox, Willie B. (Johnnie Mae) Hammock, Eloise (Major) McDaniel, Ola (Derrick) Baker,  Ella Mae Hammock (Ray Alexander), Edward (Jackie) Hammock, and Linda Hammock all of Tifton, GA and Rosemary (James) Tompkins of Columbus, GA;  sister-in-laws, Ethel Stephens, Bobby Ann (Johnny) Rivera, Beatrice (Johnny) Brinkley, Idell (Derrick) Jones, Nancy Jimmerson, Ruby Hammock, and Van Hammock all of Tifton, GA, and Phyllis Woods of Jacksonville, FL; a brother-in-law, Larry Woods of Tifton, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
