Michael Terrell Swain Sr.

With our most heartfelt condolences, we announce the passing of Mr. Michael Terrell Swain Sr. 43, on February 18, 2023 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Michael Swain Sr. was born on August 8, 1979, in Tifton, Georgia, to Mr. Johnny Swain and the late Mary Delois Jones. Michael received his education in the Tift County Public School System. He was employed at Golden Environmental. Michael was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed grilling, singing, and horseshoe. He loved football, and was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. 

Mr. Swain departed this life on February 18, 2023, at Tift Regional Medical Center. In addition to being preceded in death by his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert Warren Swain and Emma Lee Swain; his maternal grandparents, M.J. Jones and Ethel Lee Sears. 

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Yamma Swain, of Tifton, Ga; sons, Michael Terrell Swain, Jr. and Messiah Swain all of Tifton, Georgia; daughters, Alicia Hand, Kayla Swain, and Sheryah Murphy all of Tifton, Georgia; grandchildren, Jah’Marquese Hand, Hayden Mack, and Promias Hand all of Tifton, Georgia; brothers, Lacoma (Jillian) Jones of Diberville, Mississippi; Johnny Kelly (Laura) Swain of Greenville, Mississippi; Kendrick Marshall and Sterlyn Marshall all of Ambrose, Georgia; Justin (Krystal) Thorpe of Watford City, North Dakota; Justin Swain and Eric Swain all of Tifton, Georgia; sisters, Tara (Ricky, Sr.) Woods of Diberville, Mississippi, Johnesha Swain of Ambrose, Georgia; and Jozlyn Ewings of Tifton, Georgia; uncles, Edward Jones of Tampa, Florida, Henry Swain of Tifton, Georgia, and Robert (Lula Bell) Powell, Sr. of Brighton, Georgia; aunts, Mary Helen Jones of Gulfport, Mississippi;  Annie Lee Jones, Linda (Johnny) Simon, and Denise Swain all of Tifton, Georgia; Marjorie (Frank) Smith of Ashburn, Georgia; Catherine Swain of Atlanta, Georgia; a special aunt that raised him, Barbara Ann Wright of Brighton, Georgia; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
